Storage Tips:
Live oysters will last for 10-14 days if stored correctly.
Keep your oysters damp, shaded and cool. Upon receiving your live oysters, open the box up and leave the lid slightly open to allow them to breath.
Place the oysters in a cool spot, store between 15 and 20 degrees celsius.
*DO NOT REFRIGERATE LIVE OYSTERS!*
Check the oysters daily. If they are dry, simply drip some water over the oysters to keep them damp - wrap them in a damp cloth to assist with keeping your oysters cool and comfortable.
Discard any oyster that has opened before you shuck for consumption as this means the oyster has died and needs to be discarded.
Fresh is best so open your oysters as required. When opening, give them a quick rinse beforehand and place them on some ice or in the fridge to chill.
Once open, oysters need to be refrigerated below 4 degrees and consumed within 7 days. Although they are best served immediately after opening.
